  • Bilstein shock seat position

Hoping to get a bit of advice on what others have done with their seat positions on Bilstein shocks.

I am just fitting a set of D563 Shocks with Kings KTFR-101T springs to the front of my Prado 120 V6. (Have Sovereign bar, winch and dual battery).
I notice they are delivered with the circlip in the center position, however I have seen some people fit them in lower position.

My question is, where is a good starting point?
Trying to avoid doing the job twice.

    Any input would be appreciated

Usually, you would start at the same position as the factory spring seat. Then you select the spring to suit your accessories. If the spring you have is a little under specced for the accessories, then you move it up one notch.

      Thanks for the response.

I tried the center seat. Front is sitting 800 on left and 810 on RHS (dont know why there is a lean)

So does moving the seat position upwards increase the height of front, and therefore lower position drops the height?
I must admit i started researching and got confused on the topic of preload and how this affects the height of the car when at rest.
