  • Air assist bags

    Hi Guys,

Very new to this & don't fully understand how to use these forums.
I have a 120 Prado Grande, lifted, 33s etc. I want to know if anybody has installed air assist airbags in the rear but connected them up to the factory ride/height control? I didn't put the HD springs in the rear for the constant load rating because I figured even once the back is setup with the drawers, fridge etc, whilst towing it will sag anyways, so want to put air assist bags in. Any thoughts on this idea would be greatly appreciated,
    Thankyou, Alex

No you can't connect coil assist air bags into the factory system. It works on pumping air into the airbags which extend in length until the set height is reached. Coil assist airbags do not extend in length and if the height is never reached, the compressor will keep going and the airbags will pop.
