Hey Pete
I've got the Trak Shak setup in the yard this weekend - so we can practice making up the beds, folding it all away, re-packing the crates, re-organising what sits where, making a list and checking it twice.
I just like fitting these things myself - so if something goes wrong on the road I know where all the bits go. But eventually I'm going to run out of time.
Why can't they make weekends with more daylight ?
Cheers

Yeah Chippy. So much to do, so little time.Originally posted by ChippyWhy can't they make weekends with more daylight ?Cheers Chippy
Have been working on Moo with a few mods already. Had planned to do a few short trips however with the wind & rain over the last 2 weekends we have struck out bad.
Will be a bit of hit & miss I think.
Work pressure is building up as usual before I go on hols so will be a big launch on the 20th July as we leave it all behind.

Re: Product Review: Polyair Suspension Assister Airbags
Drew, how do you go getting an air gauge onto the valves? When my polyairs were installed they put the valves next to my tow hitch (one each side) but as I discovered today, the locking HR hitch pin doesn't fit unless I alter their height to a point where my air compressor fitting won't attach properly! Can use the std hitch pin, but want the lockable one to be useable. Thinking of moving them to your hidehole. Did you fit them to the existing bit of plastic or make up a bracket of some sort?Originally posted by Drew
I installed the inflation valves in the small hatch used for the spare winder (not used in Australian 120s) located in the rear door jamb.

Cheers, Nige

Yeah I mounted them on the plastic, I figured it would do. I can always whip something up if it fails. Getting the air fitting and pressure gauge in there is fairly easy, I guess it would depend on your fittings.
I looked at putting them near the tow hitch, but I figured there'd be more risk of them getting damaged there.
Good luck, sing out if you need any more info.
Looking at this photo again, I'm embarrassed!
ops: You think I could've washed the truck! Poor old girl still hasn't had a tub - but we've had so much rain I've got no excuse now!

Blimey Matt, I have a hard enough time remembering what groceries I need to buy, let alone drill bit sizes! :lol:Originally posted by Pradogxlv6What sized drill did you use for the holes to mount these valves Drew ??
I would have measured the diameter with my callipers and selected an appropriate bit from my kit. It should be fairly straight forward when your kit arrives.

Now let me see. Where did I leave it? :lol:Originally posted by ChippyHey Drew, while you're at it, could I have a copy of your grocery list too - saves me having to remember all that stuff when I have to duck down to the shops

Polyairs are in.
Tell ya what Drew .. your instuctions and pics crap all over the stuff that comes with the kit.
Wound up lifting one side a time. Dropping the bottom shockie mount, panhard and sway bar link - gave me more than enough room to pop the springs in and out - about 3 hours all up.
Sorry about the lack of pics - it pissed down the whole time - and carports don't stop rain when it's coming in sideways. I got very wet.
I stuck the inflation valves through a strip of aluminium fixed to the bumper but stepped down with some small washers - and chucked the whole lot in Drew's hole.
On an empty car it looks like a great lift kit - and that's with only 5 psi in the bags. (wonder if I can find some for the front - it'll save a fortune on a lift kit  )
It settles down a little with the CT hooked up and I reckon I'll get a nice level ride fully loaded.
The ride is fine, just a little firmer.
Cheers
Chippy
