HELP: HD or Standard??

G'day all,

I have 2" lifted Kings Springs with standard Toyota shocks in my Prado (was done before I bought it).

The front is sagged and I have some Heavy Duty Dobinson coils here, but am wondering if they will be too stiff without a winch on the front?

I currently have a ARB Deluxe bar, 4L V6 and dual batteries. No plans for a winch (not a winch bar).

I'm planning on putting in new shocks this weekend and am wondering if the front will be too stiff with HD Dobinsons? Rear springs are fine as we dont carry alot of weight.

Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated.

I have 883 ome which is the lightest and i toyota bar and dual battery and V6, so i would think the HD's would be too rough, you would need a medium spring in my opinion.

Rusty,

i have the lifted HD dobinsons in my car which is a 2006 gxl - v6 auto with dual batts, arb deluxe bar and winch.

with these springs in this setup the front is on the firm side. Without the added weight of the winch it will probably make for a pretty harsh ride.

Thanks fellers.

Spoke to Suspension stuff and they said the HD's are rated at 60-100kg weight. I thought bar and batteries would put me in that bracket, but it doesnt seem so. I might have to go standard coils in the front.

It seems as though the main decided is winch vs no winch.

HD for winch.
Non-HD for no winch.
