  • goodyear wrangler MTR kevlar - anyone runnng these

just got 5 of these for the bargain basement price of $1000.
were fitted and removed due to too-big for the vehicle they were fitted for (265/70/17).
    there loss, my gain.
giving them a quick test tomorrow,
but wanting to know from other people that have these, here thoughts to how they go,
and if they have had problems/defects.
my local tyre company/fitter say they no longer recommend due to the cost of the tyres.

    Bargain!
I Have found them very good in most situations and surprisingly good on sand for a muddy.

Is it correct that these tyres can only be fitted with the white lettering out?

        Cheers Andrew

Hi Andrew, that is recommended by Goodyear because they are asymmetric non directional tyres (because of the different tread patterns and placement and evidently increases ability to corner and disperse water). I will go check later but I think there is something written on the tyre wall that indicates which side is inboard/outboard. Here are some links to other discussions where this was discussed

I have only recently purchased these tyres as a second set to put them on when I head off to Cape York in August. I gave them a test run on a three day camping trip in the Western Macs out of Alice, towing a trailer. It only amounted to around 40kms offroad driving (hard loose surface, sand driving and some small water crossings where it was quite slippery and boggy) but the tyres performed really well. I was running 22psi and the traction was great. No probs or defects noted yet (but only early days)

          Regards - Keeper
