They are standard Toyota GXL steel wheels, I powder coated them black, check with Toyota spare parts, they still might have them on sale, around $470 for the 4

Yetiboy, did you have to do anything to prepare them for powdercoating or just drop them off and tell them you want em black when you pick em up?
I seen on the BFG website they have a 255/80x17 KM2 ( 33.3x10x17)out now, wouldnt mind fitting it on one of these rims in black on the hilux.Comment

Just dropped them off & picked the colour, lots of great colours to choose from, $120 later & they came out black

I just bought 4 x GX rims from City Toyota for $109 + GST, they said they had 100's of them, some even with new tyres on them.

Just fitted my new rims and tyres up and boy there's a MASSIVE difference in weight.
12kg per rim and tyre!
Factory GXL + Grandtreks = 28kg each
GX Steelie + 275/65/17 BF Goodrich AT = 40kg each
I don't fancy my chances getting one of these on and off the roof rack.

Wow! That's a fair weight difference. I'm really starting to take a liking to the steel rims with a dark grey powdercoating on them. I'm trying to work past the boss the idea of selling my 5x alloys, and with that cash getting 6x steelies and another Cooper ST, getting them powdercoated and have 2x spares.
Or I just wait until the ST's are worn and then having 6x steelies shod with the STT's
Looks the trick too.

Just wondering about these steel rims from Toyota that some people are talking about.. Are they 17 X 7.5 or 17 X 7 as listed on the Toyota Press Room page?
I have a set of 5 steel rims and have as yet to put tyres on them and I'm sure they are 17 X 7!
Also, are the rims that fit on the Prado the same as the current Hilux?? And are as such interchangeable???
