  • Possible new options for the Prado

A local dealer has offered me a choice of either Nitto Dura Grappler M&S TL (T) or Zeetex (chinese) at a much lower price! Does anyone have any experience with either. My driving in 90% bitumen and 10% offroad (soft sand).

    Cheers.

I guess this topic has been covered to death. Still looking for tires, I hope I do not push the Grandtreks to the point of explosion. Has anyone tried the Firestone Destination LE or AT? They seem to be reasonable priced around here for some reason. Cheers.

I also looked at the Nitto's but couldn't find much about them, other than that the low profile tyres are popular with wannabe street racer types.

Anything Chinese is hit and miss. Could be good, could be rubbish. They're not known for consistency.

If you're doing mostly road driving with a little soft sand, why not stick with one of the well established ATR's. That said, i'll be keen to hear your feedback if you do decide to go with the Nitto's.

Well, they are in the same price point locally, if not more expensive than the Yokohama Geolander, Hankooks, Kumhos, and other mid range brands. The Pirelli is mid point and the Bridgestones is out of the ball park, I guess there are many suckers here that do not think they are being ripped off. I guess I can go with a cheaper tire and then change it in a couple of years if I do not like it, less risky that way. We'll update soon, going to buy new shows in a couple of days.
