A year on since I've had the tyres on and they are still going well, I have pulled out 6 roofing screws, and one small tech screw and no leaks, and still no punctures and I can honestly say they haven't been babied, of course correct tyre pressures have been maintained at all times. Have been over to Cairns and up through the Daintree and back, and numerous trips in and out of Arnhem Land. I've also been to the more remote centre of Arnhem Land on a few trips.

Anyway I upgraded from the steal wheels which kept reminding me of my Patrol I had, to some alloy GXL wheels for the time being whether I ever find a set of wheels I really like.

Anyway fast approaching another wet season with the tyres so they should be back into their element.

          I had those tyres also.
I found, they are not too noisy. Speedo was 100% 31.9" 70 series tyre.
Good going forwards in slop soup. Not so good going down wet hills looking or decel.
Good on road, wet and dry. They got chips n cuts easy, they were cheap.
          Good looking tyres.

Almost at the end of their life so thought I'd do some what of a final review on the KL71's coming up on 2 years of solid out back off road driving.

Plenty of highway driving has been done in between, trips to FNQ, Alice Springs, Arnhem Land and many other tracks around the NT including Binn's Track along the way. Performance on the road has been great since day one. Off road and in they mud they have been awesome as well. I've been in a Hilux with Goodyear MTR's and a few other 4WD's and I don't think the tyres have been any noisier if not quieter in some cases.

The small downside is they are directional, so I picked the spare to be for the left hand side of the Prado which payed off. I rotated these just from front to back every 5thou. k's or so and they have worn perfectly even the whole time. I'm a sucker for white wall writing and I think that might even attract more sales who knows.. Overall the price was far cheaper than any other mud tyre and even all terrains on the market so I gave them a try. I'm moving onto some KM2's next up only because I got them at such a good price so it will be interesting to see the noise difference and wear from what I'm on now as a comparison.

A puncture repair that held up no longer...

The spare finally in use after two years almost.

              Hi Playdoh.
I recently bought a set of the kl71's and Im struggling to find a happy tyre pressure. Just wondering what pressures you were running on the Highways to achieve that level wear.
So far an excellent tyre with great on road grip. Only used them once in the sand (at full pressure too I might add), and they were fantastic. My only real gripe with them is the extra nearly 4ltrs per 100.
Can't fault the looks they get either, I can't count the amount of people who have stopped me at servos etc to ask what they were and where they could get some.

For highway driving I stuck to 36psi, around the community where I lived I was often a little lower on pressures say 32psi as it was a dirt roads and not much sealed road. 36psi seemed to be just right, light steering without being to harsh a ride.

I got a very good and equal wear throughout their use, I kept to a front back rotation religiously, and I actually had them flipped when they were put on my alloy wheels. If you do not rotate the fronts to the back you will notice the difference in wear you get very quickly.
