Larger tyres for 120 prado

Works fine on 90series, and the sender is the same on the 120series, so I cant see any reason why it would not work there too. Adjusts my speedo down by 7%, so I now have true speed (according to GPS & calculations) showing on the speedo. The change is speedo setting is programmable(before delivery).

Also works on 93 onwards Land Cruiser with electronic speedo sensor.

i,m planning to change them with BFG or Bridgestone Revo (694 here) AT's in 265/70/17.

The 694 doesn't come in this size in Australia, is it avaliable over there?

Ι believe the biddest tire youo can fit with the standard wheels is 265/70-17.

gv1600 (Γεια σου Βασιλη) the only reason i'd use AT tires in such a heavy car would be their speed rating.In this case i'd try the cooper ST .

If you don't care travelling with less than 160km/h and you go offroad often i suggest M/T tires specially for the greek muddy terrain.

just for eveyone who is interested.
I just changed from the original grand treks to cooper discoverer ST 265/70/17.
By GPS the original (20,000Ks) grandtreks the speedo was spot on.
Changed tyres and checked it again.
60K on the gauge had the GPS showing 61.6Ks.
70 Ks on the gauge, GPS showed 72ish.
80Ks on gauge, GPS showed 83ish.
One thing I noticed was if the speedo needle is kept just below speed line, as in needle just about to touch respective speed mark, you will be doing that speed.
And it gave about 35mm in hieght to the vehicle. I put this down to the strength of the sidewalls of the coopers and the lack of strength of the grandtreks.
Note. I got the 10 ply tryes.

I have 275/70 LT coopers ATR's fitted and have done approx 40 000 km's on them. The speedo is out approx 5% so at 100 km's by the speedo I am doing 105 km's via GPS.

Ok after a few runs on the weekend I can now reveal the following.
60K on the gauge had the GPS showing 61.6Ks. so I will round up to 62Ks
70 Ks on the gauge, GPS showed 72ish.
80Ks on gauge, GPS showed 83ish.

90 on the gauge was the most out and showed 95K on the GPS.
100 on the gauge showed 102-103 on the GPS.

once the speed went to three digits it did not show any points in the speed readout. so I could get 61.6 or 61.7 but once I got to 100 it rounded it on the readout.
did a bit of steep hill climbs and they did it easy then droped the air to about 18PSI with the Stauns and hit the beach.
Did about 30K on the beach from south of Mandurah to Preston beach and it went great. 1st, 2nd, 3rd with no effort at all.

Have you got your new tyres yet? I too am looking at the Mickey Thompson ATZ's. It is a decision between them, Cooper ST's or BFG A/T's.

I have been quoted prices within $10 of each other so price won't be a factor. More just chasing opinions between them.

I am not too sure but I think the ATZ's have an 80 000km warranty and the ST's only 60 000?

Anyone confirm this?

Only picked up my '05 GXL 2 weeks ago and am loving all this prado business!!
