tyre advice please

As I anxiously await the delivery of my new toy, I have been enjoying reading this excellent forum. I have learnt that the tyres fitted to the prado are not great. The question is how bad on and off road? I'm contemplating enquiring about swapping at delivery, possibly for Bridgestone 694's. I've currently got 693's on my Pajero, and they're great, but maybe a bit vague on the road. I do mainly bitumen k's, but some varied off-roading- would appreciate any opinions :?

Not all of us are unhappy with the Treks. Mine have gone 60,000k with some wear left. My original 90 series had them when I lived in Sydney and they didn't last long with stop/start driving. Mainly does highway with some sand and not extreme offroad. They are quiet, they stop the car, they handle the wet and I have not had an ounce of trouble offroad. However, will replace with Pirellis soon as I like a change.

I would suggest doing a search on tyres or specifically the brand name of tyres you are inquiring about.

There has been dozens (hundreds?) of threads on tyres and the feedback on the different ones.

There is already a thread on 694's and lots of feedback.
