  • Goodyear Wrangler Duratracs

Just fitted up some 245 70 17 Duratracs on the wagon..........It had 225 65 17 Yokohama Geo AT's on it.
My vehicle is the Standard.........not GX and not GXL so it has no flares it does have the 17x7.5 steel GX wheels which i fitted myself.

So far the Duratracs ar a little noisier than the Geos but are actually fairly quiet for an agressive tyre (see how it goes when they get down a bit).

I would have gone for the 265's but they would have hung outside the vehicle by a fair way IMO........anyway at $310 a corner fitted i think i did ok......priced up some BFG's at $378 ea and a 2 week wait for stock,I have had BFG A/T ,Dick Cepek FC11 and Cooper ATR's so it will be interestng to see how the Goodyears stack up against the others.

    Can I still play now I have a 200 series?........Had a 2008 120 Series D4D Manual 6 Speed...STANDARD White, Soverign Bar..........Rear Cage........Dashmat.......GX Wheels with Good Year Dura Tracs........Bilstein/Dobbo 2'' lift.....Safari Snorkel....Canvas Seat Covers.....20%tint..........55W HID Headlights.....Mudmats front and rear.....
    22'' Lightbar......

Mate had some duratracks on his Pootrol and loves them. Similar mileage to BFG A/T's with better mud capability.

As a Goodyear dealer I hear allot of feedback about these most of it posative. Just watch snow/ice apparently. Most goodyear Tyres tend to disagree with it, may be the sylica in the tread designe not sure:s. only thing I got against them is that the silent armor and the MT/R both have the Kevlar in the side wall but the dura track doesn't. Seems like an odd choice on goodyears part.

After seeing the Goodyear MT/R's in action on a Prado at the GTG I wouldn't touch them with a barge pole. The owner reckoned they were rubbish when he arrived and I had to agree whole heartedly with him after seeing them almost fall to pieces in pretty tame conditions.

        Cheers Andrew

Wow. Allot of people I surply them to take them up through the pilbra and such and have said they are near bullet proof. Horses for corses though I guess. Theses people usually want the extra side wall strength
