  • Winter/summer tire size?

    Hi guys,

I hope someone an clarify this for me. I just got the Toyota Land Cruiser 120, the original alu. rims had the 265/65 r17 112H tires on them, I got a set of steel rims with the winter tires on size 235/65 R17... Went to my tire guy to put the winter tires on he told me that i need something like 235/70 R17 and that the 235/65 are to small...?

    I checked the manual it shos tree tires: 225/70 R17, 265/65 R17 108H and the 265/65 R17.

I am all confused now, I know the summer tires are aok 265/65... But are the 235/65 R17 to low?

I was going to buy a pair of Thule snow chains for the winter tires, but now I am not sure if I should buy this size if I need to replace the tires for something like 225/70 R17...?

    Thank you,

    In comparison to the 265/65R17:
235/65 R17 would be way under size.
235/70 R17 would be a bit under size.
245/70 R17 would be the same size.
