  • dick cepek only available at bob jane??

Hi all, I'm in the market for some new tyres. I was hoping to get a set of fc2's 265 70 17. As ive had then on my previous 4runner and was happy with them. I've been quoted by 2 different bob Jane's. One was $344 and the other was $365. What's everyones thoughts of only being able to buy them from 1 business name. No competition means they can charge more??

    Hi Jason

I work for a manufacturer and it is very nice to have one distributor particularly if they are the size of Bob Jane, one account, market price established, margins agreed upon. If they meet the output of your company then this is a great situation. There is a down side of having all your eggs in one basket.

See ya on the tracks, Richo.

In WA, OL Midland were selling the FC-II, and in the ACT, Tyrepower in Belconnen. Im fairly sure they are associated with Mickey T and you should be able to buy them from any MT retailer. Unless this has changed?

Bob Jane only. I tried quite a few well know retailers (tyrepower, bridgestone, ttf) and even some lesser know (tyres n more) and no-one apart from Bob Jane has the rights to sell the Dick Cepeck range. I'm in the market for a new set of slippers myself and leaning towards the FCII (quoted $409 ea over here in WA) or I will revert back to the BF Goodrich KM2 at $450 ea.

Not alot of options up here in Dongara for tyres, even in Geraldton. The Dick Cepeck will even cost m a trip to Perth to have them fitted, or get them sent up via courier, as there is no Bob Jane up this way.

I currently have the Cooper ST on in a 275 70 r17, with the spare still being new. I had a good run out of the tyres (clocked over 73,000km, no punctures) but I dont like their handling on bitumen or gravel. So, down a size I need to go. My only other options for the same size tyre is to go back with the Cooper AT3 or Mickey Thompson STZ

                Hi 1tuffb4b

Bought a full set of STZ from these guys for $370 each in Dec12, they were offering ATZ 4ribs LT265/70/17 at a cheaper price to move them - but would not budge on the STZ-have no association with them just an option -but might be able to get dick cepek..

I've gone with the DC FC-II's 265/70/17. Bob Jane doing them for $385.00 after a lot of ringing around (yes only Bob Jane carry them). My alternative was MT ATZ 4 rib but they seem to be in short supply at the moment and I've been getting quoted a similar price anyway... so, FC II's it is. First time running these, so should be interesting. Usually run BFG AT's.
                    Cheers.
