Something like the Pirelli scorpions or yoko geolander might be worth a look. Caravanners seem to luv em and there a miserly bunch lol My dad just had michelin latitude cross recommended to him by his tyre dealer, he only ever does occasional beach driving and tows a van. He's running bfg long trails at the moment on his 90series and they've served him well. Good luck with your choice and let us all know how you go

I'm running Pirelli Scorpions in 275/65 17 on my 150. Not LT construction but a higher load rating than the Grandtreks. I ran a few sets of the same size in BFG A/Ts on the 120 and they were heavy. So I opted for a change. Definitely recommend them for fire trail, road and sand. Too shallow a pattern for mud but then most AT tyres will be the same. I will fit them again. My 150 build - http://www.pradopoint.com/showthread.php?27423-A-Random-approach-to-a-Bluestorm-150-GXL-D4D-automatic

I noticed my Cooper has 80psi max rating. Any passenger that can go to 60psi?
Anything less than an 8 ply rating at 60 psi your headed for tyre fractures and blow outs, forget passenger construction at 60 psi in a 265/65r17. Also, running any tyres at max pressure without thought to the tyre loading means uneven tyre wear, premature replacement, costing more money that you thought you might have been saving on fuel, wasted on a new set of tyres coz your last ones only did 50-60kkm. It's a vicious circle.
When choosing my tyres I looked at what performance I could NOT compromise when I needed them the most. That was load rating and carcass strength, fracture resistance etc. My two cents. Stick with an LT type for your magical 60 psi pressure mate, like the Bridgies. Cheers. Let us know what you come up with.05 GXL Family Truckster. 1KZ-TE, A343F, Cooper ATR 265/65R17, Sovereign Bar um' spottie holder, IPF 800's, numerous exterior mods made during off-road use. Why are people obsessed with 60psi? There are a couple of threads about tyre pressures, have a look through there. At 60psi you will be needing a kidney belt and new fillings. My 150 build - http://www.pradopoint.com/showthread.php?27423-A-Random-approach-to-a-Bluestorm-150-GXL-D4D-automatic

I run my D697 LTs (265/60/R18) at 40 PSI around town, down to somewhere between 20-25 PSI off-road. Have had the Prado on a weighbridge with a Bridgestone rep and the recommended pressure was actually 43 PSI. Don't know where people are getting 60 PSI from, even at 40 the ride is a bit hard.
