  • Whats the most popular H/T Tyres?

    I currently have Bridgestone Dueler H/T 684II 265/65R17 112S

Would you recommend that I get the same tires or can you make suggestions for what I should consider. I'm not sure how much the Bridgestones are but I would like to spend around $800.

Our main driving is just on the roads with the very occasional dirt road and very light 4WD tracks. So I'm after a Highway Terrain.

Lots of people buy a new Prado and swap out the original Grandtreks for AT or MT tyres straight away. I would be looking for someone doing just that and try and do a deal with them. I sold my grandtreks with only 300k on them for $150 each a few years ago to another forum member. For a HT I thought the GT was a good tyre, I wore out the set on my first Prado and that including some outback tracks without issue.

maybe a post in the wanted section might be the go, or check out tyre dealers close to large Toyota dealers and see what they have.

    Cheers Andrew

Thanks Andrew. I ended up doing just that. I picked up a set of Dunlop Grandtrek AT22's for $800 that have been driven from the dealer to the tyre shop. I'm not sure if it was a real good deal but it seamed OK to me. I'll be upgrading my Prado in the next year or so to a newer one or a cruiser, so I didn't feel like spending too much on tyres.

Just see how happy you are after it rains. The Grandtreks we had (they were AT20's) were terrible in the wet. 4 wheel drift in a full time 4wd car is not good.
