  • Brake Calliper Grinding for 16"Wheels

Hi Guys, I stumbled across a post on the lcool website about brake calliper grinding in order to fit 16" wheels on a 120. Just wondered has anyone done it? It seems it is not grinding away at a necessary part, so I can see no real issues - just like grinding away at any other part of the car I suppose.

    Any thoughts?

    Hello Burger,

Highly Illegal act, you will be mince meat instead of burger if you are caught for a roadworthy.

I don't understand why. Surely there is enough tyres to choose from in 17".

not necessary if you get the right rims, some 16" will fit without modification, i think there is a thread on it, i used to have 16" Dynamic steel wheels (0 offset) on my GXL 120 series and they fit no dramas - no modification, no grinder required.

        cheers,
        Scott.

And still illegal in every state of Oz because of the huge increase in track. There are plenty of 17" tyres available now so I cannot see the point.

            "Highly illegal"?

The vehicle will simply be unroadworthy.
