Cooper 265/70/17 STT Clearance on GX???

Hi I know this has been partially answered in other posts, and thanks Billy for sending me that message, with your thoughts on the subject.

But wanted to ask/check has anyone fitted these tyres on GXL rims to a standard suspension GX? Am I going to have any clearance problems or will I have to fit the increased height OME or Bilstein suspension lift??

Im placing the order for my tyres today so if you could get back to me Id greatly appreciate it.

I would suggest unless you have a bull bar, they will scrub on the front when turning.

As you dont have flares I would also think they will be sticking out a mile each side. Most who have them have fitted a lift as well to stop scrubbing.

My STTs are on steel 17X8 wheels. They were fitted before the suspension lift and only fouled on the mudflaps before they were tied back. The suspension lift did not completely eliminate contact with the mudflaps un-restrained. I have not fitted flares as the wheels are only on the truck for some trips. The edge of the tread is in line with the body but the sidewall is outside.

Yeah we get lots of 2 door GX and VX Prado's in Dubai as well.

I ended up buying the missus a sweet VX grande silver prado, this model has the spare mounted where the second fuel tank normally goes.
