  • Different size tyre's and potential issues?

Hi All, could someone please let me know if this would be an issue my tyres are 275/65 r17 however my spare is a 265/65 r17 , my concern is that if I need to use the spare it could stuff up my driveline? Any thoughts?

If the only difference is the width then there shouldn't be any issues provided it's only used as a short term spare. The issues come from different diameters of tyre. The 265 refers to the tread width.

While the 265 and 275 is width there is still an overall diameter difference of 13mm. How that effects the drivetrain. No idea. I personally wouldn't use it unless you had no other choice

What ravenhard said - i.e. there is a diameter difference between the 2 sizes. This means that the diff is going to be working a bit more than usual to cater for the different rotational speeds of the 2 different sized tyres.
