I've been reading through all the threads on tyres over the past ten days. There sure is some reading there. Anyway, with my current Hilux D4D, because of rims from previous Hilux's (sunraysia rims) not fitting, I was stuck with the tyres as delivered. Not sure but think they were Goodrich. Damn things spun on wet grass, useless. Luckily?? I only got about 25k out of them and changed to Wranglers, which were fine. Now I am faced with these Grandtreks on my soon to be delivered Prado D4D. In the Port Macquarie area I've been trying to trade them on 1. Bridgestone D694 2. Yokohama Geolander A/T-S 3. Cooper ATR or 4. Dunlop Grandtrek AT3. Have read these threads and LCOOL, surfed the net etc to get my choices sorted out. It has ended up an excercise in futility (or perhaps a wipeout) as nobody wants to trade the Grandtreks. All but 1 have laughed and said they wouldn't be able to offload them. Two said they wouldn't as they couldn't bring themselves to sell them to another customer. One has offered me D694's at $190 per tyre but will only trade 4 as he couldn't get rid of 5. This says a lot for what Toyota put on a good vehicle eh! End of day I'm going to be stuck with tyres I don't want which must impact on enjoyment of vehicle. I can't afford to scrap new tyres. I know I have to cop it sweet, but it is bloody frustrating to spend big money on such a quality vehicle that is shod with crap.

Re: bogged in Grandtreks
We you order the Prado from the dealer get them to swap over the tyres to the ATR's instead of the standard Grandtreks, the last 2 4wd's I have bought in Brisbane I got the tyres changed over for $0 cost when ordering the vehicleOriginally posted by cjdI've been reading through all the threads on tyres over the past ten days.
