  • Biggest tyres on a 120 Prado?

    I've just fitted 5 x Cooper Discoverer ST Maxx 285 x 70 x 17 to my Prado:

Had to fit a http://www.kaymar.com.au/parts_wod.php Kaymar Wheel on rear door extension bracket $125, needed nylon washers added to protect paint under the bracket where it sits on the door $5

    No issues on the rear

At full lock it slightly touches the mudflap - this will go away when I fit the 2" lift kit next week

At full lock it slightly touches the end point of the front guard - this will also go away when I fit the 2" lift kit next week

I'll add a phot when I have the lift done next week

32" tyres (265/70 17) fit easily on standard 7.5" rims with or without a lift. Go to a 33" tyre (265/75 or 285/70 17) and you will need a lift and a bit less offset. Different upper control arms help too allowing more camber adjustment. Never heard of 270/75. And it will be a 2" lift. 2' is 12 times bigger!
