  • Kerb Collision extent of damage

    Hi.
I'm after some worthwhile info please.

Long story but I managed to kerb my drivers side (left) front wheel at 45degree hard enough to put the alignment out. My garage in the Middle East is pretty good but there is still a lof of language barrier.
My 2008 120series is driveable but definitely an alignment issue and a tell tail scuffing on the outer tread (wheel is OK).

I can not see obvious damage to control arms and other steering components so my question is, does anyone have knowledge/experience of what components tend be affected (in what order) in relation to severity of kerbing incidents.

Do both control arms get affected with equal severity or mainly the lower one?

What about wheel bearings after an impact allightment issue?

    Thanks in advance

I would expect the tyre and or wheel would be damaged well before any suspension or steering component. The tyre is quite forgiving and will take a fairly hefty impact before you get to the stage where the rim will deform.

You really need to get an alignment done. Is there anyone there who can do one?
