275/65 vs 265/70 bridgestone dueer at 697lt

Hi guys i know these tyres are considered old but searched threads and couldnt find anything....looking for someone who has fitted the 697tl in the 275/65 size to post a pic, specifically on a 120 with a 2' lift.
i know the 265/70 is common but im looking for a slightly bigger size but stay legal and keep fuel consumption as low as possible when towing in particular as when i tow my camper (or boat) im fully loaded with fuel, gear , kids and a packed camper too. cheers. nigel

275/65R17 is not as common. So in terms of keeping fuel consumption low, you could stay with 265/65R17 and more choice.

Hi Mate,

SA have changed the tyre size rules and we can now go +50mm legally. My local tyre bloke showed me a copy of the paperwork they got confirming it. Haven't seen anything on the transportsa website yet though.

Edit - meant to say this means 265/70R17 is a good option, commonish size and legal now.

I'd be wanting to see that from the transport website or office before taking it as gospel..

I know someone specifically asked them late last year ( rumours of rule change started mid 2015). The reply from DTEI was: "It is being considered but has not been gazetted or legalised at present.

Can some one post a pic with the 697s fitted in 265/70? If the don't look too big I may fly under the radar
