  • 33" or more on J120

Is here anyone with 33" or more withou bodylift? At the present time I have 265/70R17 Goodyear wrangler MTR, but I need to use something bigger, for example 305/70R17 (about 34x12).
I have OME kit and SaharaBar with 12tlbs winch.

    Hi bsa,
Why do you need to fit something bigger?
    Where do you usually go?

Arctic trucks on 35 neither on 38" uses bodylift!
If you use wheel with ET 0 or more (positive) you can fit 34", but I'm afraid that axles don't "survive"

Usually heavy mud terrain, in the hills. Conditions in Slovakia are bad especially after rainfall.

I think you just need to fit mud tyres... MTR is not a mud tyre, they are
Maximum Traction Tyre. Something like Extreme Jungle Treckers will
          do the job

285/75/R16 is the biggest I know of without body lift, which is 32.8"
285/70/R17 would be about the same size. Might be cheaper
getting lockers (front and rear)

theres no problem of traction (but front lock is good idea (rear is factory option)), there's problem of height.
I'll find pictures of prado with 34", you'll see the difference

                  Hi bsa ,
                  i'm interested too for 34" .
I tried 33" 285/70/17 as you can see in another post and i think they fir with 0 offset wheels or extensions.
The problem exists at full lock where the tires rub at the upper control arm(the front of the tire) and on the chassis (the back of the tire).
If you have seen lc120 with 34" please send photos and details on how they fit.

Gunnel has large tyres without much issue.

I run 285/70R17 in KM2's on 17x8 dynamics +10 offset which keeps then 'just' in the gaurds - no rubbing at all around town, however in the front on full lock and compression there is some rubbing on the chassis mount and bull bar, but not enough to be concerned about. The rear at full flex rubs a little on the rear mudflap. The amount of suspension height and flex will play a big factor... i posted some pics of the rubbing here http://www.pradopoint.com/showthread...Brisbane/page3

285/75R17 - 34's you can import from the states, but you'd need to do the BMC and trim the gaurd on the bull bar wings + do something about the rear mudflap (e.g. replace with a steel rear bar that goes to the wheel arch). If you did all that you could run 35's with some flexi flares , but say goodbye to performance, braking, CV's, Steering, Diffs (if used hard off road), oh an insurance/police if you're worried about that... probably good idea to run a 6" lift as well otherwise you'd have to limit your uptravel in suspension.
