BRIDGESTONE D694 PRICE

I rang a few bridgestone dealers today in brizzy after a price on the D694s 265/65/17 . It is amazing the price difference between dealers considering these tyres are on special at the moment. I wont name 3 of the dealerships but out of 4 dealers the one that had the cheapest price fitted and balanced was,

Jax Quickfit tyres - $265.00

Bridgestone dealer no:1 $350.00 with $5.00 rebate per tyre if show RACQ membership. :twisted:

Bridgestone dealer no:2 $290.00 with $5.00 rebate per tyre if show RACQ membership. :?

Bridgestone dealer no:3 $274.00 with $5.00 rebate per tyre if show RACQ membership.

Now i dont mind spending my $$$$ on good tyres but that is rediculous considering they all said that this same tyre is on special.

those Bridgie dealers are certainly profitering. it certainly pays to shop around, others have also found Jax to be cheapest in brissie.

i bought mine for $250 a pop in sept last year throught a bridgey dealer, so $265 sounds like a good price, id be going with them, as for the others they r F#$%&N robbers

I rang a local Bridgestone dealer in Southern Sydney last week and he quoted $242.00 each, less another $8.00 if I was an NRMA member.
I was damm near tempted to put a set on then and there but I reckon I can squeeze another 15K out of the Grandtreks yet.

Be careful they're not old tyres. I was about to buy a full set from Jax before I discovered they were 4 years old! I'm not saying they're all like that but it's not uncommon for old tyres to be sold at clearance prices. Always make sure you check the dates on the tyres.

After getting a price from Jax I went to two Bridgestone outlets and both said they'd matched it without any problem. Ended up getting 275/65 694s from Bridgestone for $250 each.

Why Bridgestone would have different prices at different stores though is a mystery. My local Bridgestone place had 265/65 for $274 when I spoke to them this week. They'd have no problem matching Jax.

From what I could determine $329 is RRP for 265/65 and $348 for 275/65.

How did you find out how old they were?

And "were" the 694 around 4 years ago? I didnt think they were?

Read the date stamp on the tyre. My BFGs were made in the 11th week of 08

Can't remember the exact date on the tyre but recall it ended in '04' - if late in that year I suppose it would have been closer to 3 1/2. The dealer did acknowledge they were 'old new stock'.

The date is a four digit number on the tyre wall near the rim. The first two numbers represent the week of the year and the last two represent the year - so 4904 would be early December 2004.

I think the 694s were released here around early to mid 2004.

I got 5 Bridgestone 694s from Jax at their Mitchelton store a couple of months ago for $232 each. They were new stock made this year that the shop ordered in for me. Give them a go. I found Jax very good to deal with. I also managed to buy a new Speedy copy of the Prado rim from them for $200 so I now have an extra spare. Just have to carry an extra set of wheel nuts (supplied with the wheel) in the glove box as they are bevelled rather than flat ended.

How much margin do dealers actually have on tyres? I always wondered how much you could knock them down from RRP. Previously I had gotten a wheel alignment thrown in when buying 4 but no real discount on the rubber.

Hi Guys,
Question, Will 275/65/R17 D694 fit on the prado, And if so will they scrub out badly when off road and turning? Due to beeing to wide then the norm.
