Anyone put a 120 series hub on a box trailer?

I'm looking at a box trailer in the next few months but thought it would be cool to put Prado rims on it. It seems most trailer have a 5 stud pattern. Has anyone changed that to a 6 stud 139.7 PCD? I thought running some genuine rims would look good and give the trailer more clearance.

And around town you would not have to carry a spare on the trailer cos the car spare would fit.

Not Toyota hubs though you can do that I have trailer hubs drilled to the 6 bolt pattern with M12 studs. Very common.

Have a look at this catalogue for suggestions of kits available

Then you only need to ensure there is space under the guard for the Prado wheel.

Any trailer parts or bearing shop should stock the hubs and bearings to fit the existing ford / holden stub axles, easy job to swap them over.

Either lifting blocks or a spring over conversion, depending on the existing trailer setup, should get you the clearance required height wise if you need more, getting the offset correct may be the hard part, may need a longer axle so the inside of the tyres don't rub as the prado rims will probably be less offset than the original trailer rims

Tap the studs out and fit metric ones, same as your car

Yes, I put landcruiser 6 stud hubs on and changed the studs to 100 series studs rather than trailer, then the nuts are interchangeable too. Just need to go a slightly wider axle to handle the offset of the prado rims

If you're swapping over the studs to M12 I'd recommend getting a few spares to chuck in the toolbag - 1/2" studs are easy to find, M12 not so much...

I went to a local trailer guy in Southport today to get a quote on a 7x4 and 7x5 box trailer with higher suspension and 6 stud hubs. Not gonna happen without having a custom made trailer done or an offroad heavy duty type trailer (i.e. mega $$$$$). The 6 stud hubs, wheels and tyres just don't fit in the guards.
They normally come with a 13" wheel and the suspension under the axle. He quoted me 14" rims and the suspension over the axel. That'll raise it a couple of inches and will be high enough for my light intended use.

I built mine but there are other trailer manufacturers. Depends on your budget but I suggest giving Belco etc a call.
