will -20 offset wheels with 265/70/17 tyres affect steering much or anything else?

  • will -20 offset wheels with 265/70/17 tyres affect steering much or anything else?

    Only just found out they'll be ilegal increasing track by 50mm each side. Can an engineer sort this out?
    Will they thrash bearings quicker or steering etc due to the wheel moving further as you turn due to being forther from the designed turning/pivoting point? Will they be more likely to scrub due to this also?
    I do have 2" lift and ARB bar already.
    Only running 265/70/17s on them for now.

    It'll rub on the mudflaps, stick out past the guards, extra load on the bearings so shortened life, larger scrub radius.

    The standard rims would be fine. Maybe go out to +20 if you want.

        Let the -20 rims go. Going to see if I can get Sunraysia rims in -5 offset 17x8".
        Or maybe Patrol rims in 0 offset.
        Will leave this thread up for future reference.
