Price rise on Cooper & Mickey Thompson Tyres

I spoke to a few dealers in Adelaide today about changing my current Gradtreks for Cooper ST's or Mickey Thompson ATZ (4 rib). Several of them asked when I was looking to purchase as it appears due to the drop in the A$, that the tyres are going to increase in price by approx $40 a tyre as at Nov 1st.

Has anyone else heard of this????

I think sadly a lot of things are going to increase on Nov 1st...

Nearly 95% of my suppliers are inciting price rises on this date. Some up to 20%! :x

I was just about to buy 6 x MTZ as well, just my luck..

Simple really, if they want to put the price up then I will look at something else.

I would suggest having a chat to Darren down at Total traction tyres @ lonsdale. He is good on Mickeys usually.

Simple really, if they want to put the price up then I will look at something else.

I guess they wont be the only ones to put up prices. Every one that is imported will go up as well

Exactly, And if you look at something else you obviously wont be getting what you really wanted originally, so will be compromising.. :wink:

I would suggest having a chat to Darren down at Total traction tyres @ lonsdale. He is good on Mickeys usually.

Last time I spoke to him he really didn't want to sell me Mickey's at all. Just wanted to see General Grabbers

He tried hard to sell the MT ATZ's to me when I was there but his price was a bit on the high side I thought.

Guys,

After a few more calls it appears if they have them in stock, and you are willing to pay a deposit, then you will get them for the current price. I think this could be the go for me, so I will have 4 Grantreks with 25,000kms and one brand new one up for grabs shortly.

You wil notice that when the good old aussie $ was nearly one for one with the greenback the price of Coopers never went down :evil: . I had two sets on my 95 series and did not really think they were anything special. I will be shopping around when the time comes to replace the grandcraps.

I just bought 5 Mickey thompson 265/70/17 from tjm in Darwin NT at $390/tire fitted. That was on 01/11/08
