Re: Current tyre prices, as of 18/11/08

I have been contemplating new shoes for the 4be for a while, so these prices were gathered last week in Brisbane southside. All prices F&B

Cooper ATR 265/65/R17 - $315
Cooper ST 265/70/R17 - $375
Cooper STT 265/70/R17 - $398
Mickey Thompson ATZ 265/70/R17 - $375
Pro Comp All Terrain 265/70/R17 - $400 approx.

My last purchase was in Feb 07 - Cooper ATR 265/65/R17. I managed to get 85000kms from this set. Never rotated..maybe I should have.

I decided to try something new so the Prado now wears the Pro Comp AT at $400 fitted and balanced.

Cheers,

Wags
2005 GXL V6 4.0l, ARB Deluxe winch bar, Lightforce 240 Blitz spotties, Uniden uh015sx UHF, Wind Cheetah 2.2m roof rack, Pro Comp All Terrain 265/70/R17, 2" lift from King Springs and Bilstien Shocks, Waeco CF-50, Warn Magnum winch, Dual batteries.

Re: Current tyre prices, as of 18/11/08

got some quotes recently

265/65/R17 - BFG ATs - $298 (about 3 weeks ago, may have gone up since)
265/70/R17 - BFG ATs - $350 (last week)
265/70/R17 - MT MTZ 4 rib - $380 (last week)

Prices are F&B. All Tyre Power Artarmon in Sydney who were by far the cheapest out of the dozen or so tyre shops i rang.

on a related matter, I'm contemplating buying Prado steelies as well- Bill buckle in Brookvale were the only ones on the northside that could acknowledge Toyota's steel wheel deal was still going on.
2003 120 GXL V6 auto. GME TX3440 and AE4703, Mickey Thompson ATZ 4 rib LT265/70R17 plus roadies, Ausguard cargo barrier, BD bash plate, OME lift with Sport shocks. And hopefully more to come, slowly slowly...

Went to my local Bob Jane last night.

$325 for Yoko G012 in same size (current catalogue special)

Bridgestone D694 265/65/17 - $279 - Jax
Hankook Dynapro ATm 265/65/17 - $252 - Jax (these actually look REALLY interesting; might get these myself!)

Cooper ATR 265/65/17 - $310 - Tyrepower
Toyo OPAT 265/65/17 - $270 - Tyrepower

As of Feb 1, 09 there is a 20% price increased on all new tires. This is due to an increase in transport cost, was what i was told.

Re: Current tyre prices, as of 18/11/08

Was away last week but when we got back there were a crap load of shop catalogues to flick through. I ended up looking in the Kmart and saw the old Dunlop AT20 265/65R17 going for $335 with this offer valid until 13th May. I'm sure eveyone will be rushing out to grab some of these.
http://www.kmart.com.au/Catalogue/So...atalogueID=105

Also on LCOOL there is a fella in the Adelaide area who is offering to help people out on good prices with Tyres and equipment. I don't know brands he is able to help with and what prices he can help with. Concern would be is there any warranty or fallback if something goes pear shapped:
Are you about to buy tyres or equipment?

That's PCM120 (Paul) from this forum, although we don't see him on here much now he has a 100 series.

His deal is legit but restricted to tyres/products that ARB Elizabeth sell. (He's basically trying to recover the majority of a store credit he has with them and will pass on a 10% saving to you)

Ordered another 4 Cooper STT's today for the camper trailer and extra spare. $405 each. That's $45 more than what I paid for the 5 I bought in January 2008. Have now got 9 in total - I think I have now spent more on shoes than my wife, but please don't tell her.

Cheers - Byrnsie

Just picked up 2 Cooper discoverer ST. 265/70/17. $380 ea, Tyrepower..

Last time they cost us about $330 ea. But that was 5 of them.

Used the 3 off the campertrailer and the 2 new ones for the car. Put the 3 best ones on the camper trailer rims.

Jeff.

Had a price last week for an additional MT ATZ4 and that was $360 along with a Speedy Grande for $190. Getting a fella I bumped into who has a mate who owns a wreckers here in Adelaide to find a genuine Toyota 17" Alloy. Hope to hear back on Monday.

hi

just visited the local tyre dealer. Paid for 4 BFG AT and a front end alignment. The tyres fitted were $309 each

I didn't bother haggling as the deal came with the Blackmax air compressor (while stocks last) which has a $295 RRP.
Picked up the compressor and will drop the car in tomorrow.

The current shoes are Coopers and have another 20k or so. I will bring them back for spares,

Cheers
