Mickey T are pretty conservative with their timing so dont be surprised if you get em earleir. They are worth the wait though, a kick ass tyre.

Re: Mickey Thompson ATZ 4 rib

I've had mine for about 15,000 km now and they have mainly seen dirt road and sand. Been a pretty good tyre, the seem slow to wear so far, i'm just hoping this keeps up. Only only found these tyres to make any noise when on very smooth road surfaces I.E patches where the tar has seeped through to the surface or some of city roads other than that they are pretty much silent (I can;t hear them of the kids anyway). I would buy these again for the kind of driving I do and would recommend them to anyone. If I was going to be doing next to no travel on sealed roads I would maybe look at a MT but these tyres provide a very good compromise.

Re: Mickey Thompson ATZ 4 rib

LIke most people here, I'm a fan of the ATZ's.
After months of deliberation I decided to fit the 4rib ATZ over the CooperST's, mainly due to all the bitumen driving I do during the working week,
My main reason for picking them was that they were much quieter than the Cooper ST's on the blacktop at 100klms.
as I wanted the most aggressive AT tyre without the road noise.
So far I've been very happy them and don't regret getting anything else.
If you're after a quiet yet aggressive AllTerrain you can't go past these babies.
I found them also to be a pinch cheaper than the CooperST's to.
They still have a very slight hum on the highway if the road surface is super smooth, but not enough to drive ya nuts.
I haven't done too much offroad work with them yet, but so far they've handled dirt and loose surfaces very well.
I'm keen to see how much grip they have in the mud, and how they are on sand, but it's early days as I've only done about 4000klms on them.

        cheers,
        Stewy

Great to hear all the positive feedback on these tyres.
Thanks for the update on yours Neil - hopefully mine are not too far away then.
I keep looking at my phone, willing it to ring with the good news that they've arrived!

The ATZ 4 ribs are on! woohoo!
They sure are chunkier than I expected from the photos I'd seen so am very happy with how they look. Only had them up to 60kmh so far - bit of road hum but nothing that annoys me.
Hoping to have them out in the dirt soon to see how they perform. They sure look like they'll be almost unstoppable.

Got the suspension upgrade booked for the end of the month with Darren at Auto Craft so after that will really be ready for some action! Cant wait
Then the Prado will look much more credible parked alongside the other 4-bys out the front of the local pub!

Re: Mickey Thompson ATZ 4 rib

I picked mine up for $356 fitted and balanced but alignment was extra I think. I've seen better pricing arounf the $320-330 mark but when it comes to it haggling over small saving when you could just get some new tyres now and really start to use them. I know what I would do

Re: Mickey Thompson ATZ 4 rib

quick couple of questions to ppl who own these:

                  1. i have a stock suspension however i'm keen on going to the 70 profile tyre, would there be more rubbing at full lock compared to let's say BFG ATs?

                  2. Is 12mm spacer enough to chuck this tyre on the back?

I have maxxis 70 series tyres, the did rub the guard drivers front in reverse at full lock. A drill and a zip tie fixed that though. Other than that no hassles

the question was whether 4 ribs in 265/70 profile are wider then lets say bfgs in 265/70 profile?

265mm wide should be the same. Mine ATZ4 are square. i have seen ATZ5s which have rounded side walls. You should be fine with ATZ4s on standard suspension but will probably get some rubbing on full lock regardless of which 70 series tyre you go for.

thank you, is rubbing something i should be concerned about? damage to the tyres/suspension? (is it actually rubbing against the suspension or the guards?)

I believe Schaffer has the ATZ4 in 265/70R17 and the dog bone spacers. I think that answers your question

It was grabbing the black plastic guard infront of the wheel.
