Mickey Thompson ATZ 4 rib

I really liked the look of the 4 rib, but the cost of going to a 265/70 was just too prohibitive (also liked the Cooper S/T Maxx, but also wrong profile). In the end I went with the MT STZ, which is available in a 265/65 - only had to buy 4, got to keep two of my older tyres as spares.

Anybody purchased the Mickey Thompson ATZ 4 ribs in 265/70/17 lately? I'm after a set of 5 for my 120 if anyone knows who does a good deal in Brisbane or the Gold Coast. Expensive buggers but worth the coin from everything I read.

i did got them for $600 with under 10,000km on them off a mate. if they dont fit my gx wheels i'll contact you.

I have had these tyres on my car for just over 50k kms, and they are not even close to showing any signs of wear and tear.

The new 150 arrives next week, and will be getting these on it before I drive it out the show-room..

No worries Hazza. Waiting for prices off a wheel shop on some new rims, pretty sure i'll need flared guards to fit them as i have a GX if so there's a good chance i'll sell them as i'd rather spend money else where then on flared guards.

Throw the offers at me guys have decided to just sell them rather then get rims then flares. Would consider swaps for winch bar or sliders or something to similar value or can put cash in.

Mickey Thompson ATZ 4 rib tyres

Hey everyone,
I'm after some info regrading Mickey Thompson ATZ 4 rib tyres please.
We are currently running 265/65R17 road tyres on my 2006 Prado and want to change them to 265/70R17's ATZ 4 ribs.
Ive been told that by changing to 265/70R17's it will change my speedo by up to 10%?
How do we counteract that?
It's put a curve ball into our purchase so any feedback would be much appreciated.

I fitted these tyre on my 150 Altitude & found them great.
My speedo is now spot on as they hve removed tolerance in speedo.
They can can not change your speedo 10% as they are not 10% bigger.
They are only 26.5.mm bigger in diameter or just over 13mm in radius.
The OEM tyres will be approx 776.3mm in diameter so they will be less than 5% bigger.

I have found them to be a great tyre with the ony downside being a bit of a hum at about 80km/h that disappears at higher speeds.

I have the same experience on my 150 as Disco4 the speedo is now exactly the same as the two GPS's I use. They are also one of the best aggressive AT's I have had on wet bitumen.

I checked my speedo against GPS today.
At 100 km/h on speedo GPS recorded 98 km/h.
The speedo must have been a fair bit out.

They are allowed to be out by 10% under & zero over by Vehicle Standards info.
