  • Toyota wheel nuts

I've got road tyres on the alloys and the ATs on the steels. both genuine toyota. can the alloy wheel nuts be used on the steels (7.5" wide version)? will the end caps pop off?

    Re: Toyota wheel nuts

The steelies need a tapered nut, which is different to the nuts for the alloys. You will need a separate set for each type of wheel.

Go to Diffens or Beaurepaires and get the chrome after market nuts for your steelies.

      The Tojo ones are dearer.

        Re: Toyota wheel nuts

I have the standard alloys with the flat based nuts and purchased a Speedy Grande rim for an additional. These originally came as either tappered or flat but now are only available as tappered. Didn't realise this when I headed across the Simpson as I didn't have spare wheel nuts so I've purchased the aftermarket chrome ones from a local Bridgstone. I believe I paid about $2.50 each. Look just like the Toyota genuine ones for the standard alloys on the 120.

          Re: Toyota wheel nuts

got 26 new wheel nuts a few days ago. I emailed a couple of pics (thanks JeffH! ) of the genuine toyota nuts to Mark And Wallings in West Ryde, Sydney who had some in stock- $3 each. Just tried them and they do the job. look almost identical to the factory toyota ones except theyre 19mm not 21mm so I'll have to keep the 12v impact wrench in the car when Ive got the steelies on. I was a bit surprised that so many tyre shops i rang dont stock or supply wheel nuts. I was very happy with M&W's service.
