looking for gxl alloys for my gx.

Can anyone help me?

Was looking at replacing my gx standard 17 inch steel rims for a set of alloys. Have price up some Speedy Grande's and since they are similar to the gxl original alloy was inquiring if anyone had a good set for sale and know if they fit onto the 03 gx with out any problems. any feed back would be appriciated.

There are regularly sets that look the same to me, that come up on ebay. The sets start at 0.99 and regularly seem to go for about $200.00. They are delivered from China or Hong Kong and postage is about $225.00 or so. The originals are also a regular item on ebay as well. Sets seem to go for between $400.00 to $800.00.

I can help with the sizing. Don't know much about your GX.

gxl/ grande rims will fit the gx no worries, ive done it, the tyres will come out level with the guards, so its up to you if ya need flares. even try your local tyre retailer i got mine through a car yard when i bought the car and they cost $200 each they r a copy but who cares. cheers samo

I just got a speedy grande rim as a second spare for my 12o series got it on special for $210 cannot tell the difference apart from the fact that you need a tapered nut as the OE rims have a flat nut

I got six Speedy Grande's (4 about 6 months ago and another 2 in March) from Emerald Tyres in Joondalup for $206 each. They were the cheapest in Perth out of about 10 shops I rang, next best being $225. I waited for about a year for a second hand set but very little comes up over here and shipping is expensive from the east coast. Shouldn't have any troubles fitting GXL or speedy grandes.

thanks for the input guys, have seen some speedy alloys on the weekend and happy to go with them. $220 a rim seems the best the shop will do down here in the south west. just got to get a good a/t tyre now. have been looking at the bf goodrich. need something good on the highway and the summer beach fishing trips. have to go 245/70/17 though...

whats the reason for going with the 245/70/17, why not go the wider 265, is it because of the tyre sticking out the guards or r ya rims 6 inch. cheers samo

yeah Samo its cause of the guard issue. have got the stock rims on atm with 225 on and would love the 265 feet but the guards havent got the width. any ideas on a great a/t tyre. something that looks a bit aggresive and with not a lot of road noise?

Thanks for the tips.. Just got new feet put on and couldn't be happier. Went with the Speedy Grande alloy rims (17-7.5) and the BFG all terrain(265/65/17).
this combo fits perfectly on the gx. they line up perfect with the edge of the car and look great. even got a new compressor on the way from BFG.

I just got a price from JAXS Quick Fit tyres here in brisbane, for my 05 GX, there $187 for the Speedy Grande 17 7.5

Just picked up 5 Alloys second hand for $650 to replace the steel rims on my GX, minus caps and wheel nuts.
The steelies will be going on my trailer. I've found some caps on E-bay, but can anyone recommend the best place to find wheel nuts to suit GXL alloys?

Hopefully there's somewhere other then Toyota..... :cry:
