  • White Lettering on your tyres

I got new BFG's on the weekend and the guy behind the counter said white/out or White/in. I knew what he was on about but the misses (Prado daily driver) didn't. When we picked it up the first comment from the Prado Daily Driver was I hate the advertising of those wheels. It got uglier when the service guy went through everything and said white lettering to the outside....CHECK ops:

So it led me to ask this pole what do you think of white lettering on your Prado's Tyres

yep lettering out on the coopers, if only they had white wall tyres with black writing, , that would match the only colour prado to have, appliance white
had an 03 gx 120 with some gear now got a 2013 bt 50 GT auto some ARB gear.

It is very obvious the poll is against the White Lettering. I personally don't care but I do have the white lettering visible. It's more about what you can do with the tyres than if they have black or white on the outside isn't it?

We just got light truck 694's and I had to have the white, I think it gives the car a tougher look, especially against the dark cars.

Love the white lettering. Only problem is that after a while (several years plus tyre black on the tyres occasionally) the white fades to a dull grey.

Re: White Lettering on your tyres

I would put the white lettering on the outside if I got a royalty or discount from the tyre company for advertising their product.

              Otherwise, no thanks.

Wipe over the lettering with some prepsol and the white comes back up as new

biggest problem to me is whether you want the white or not you will get it with most tires. I mean a scrape and you can see the white carcass...I hate that!

Years ago (maybe still around) if you had black walls you could get a lettering pen and mark the letters white 8)

Paint pens are available from lots of places but the tyre still functions. A slightly faded look has a well used look which 4WD deserve.
