Re: White Lettering on your tyres

I have Bridgestone D694 275/65 17's with the white lettering on the outside. I do like the white lettering look but I also noticed the sidewall looked different on the black lettering side of the tyre. Dunno, most probably wouldn't matter but somehow the sidewall on the white lettering side looked a little more robust to me.

Going to agree with Nick on this one. However, i did go whites out, cos it looks better (my missus agrees)!

At some point I will reverse all the tyres on my rims to even out the wear (fronts scrub out on inside). This will then put the white lettering to the outside. When the BFGs were fitted by Mr Toyota prior to delivery they never asked what my choice was in relation to letters in or out. I'll have to attack them with some fine wet and dry to get rid of the brown stain.

Maybe we could get some PradoPoint lettering for the tyres?

You advertise with your Toyota badge stuck to the front and rear - what's the difference?

I have the white out on my BFG's, as said previously looks good on the darker colours.

As for keeping it white - bloke at the tyre shop told me, Cold Power Washing Liquid is the best thing for getting off the blue protector stuff they put on them when new, and for lifting off the dust and brake dust.

My local tyre place told me it was easier to balance the BFGs with the white lettering on the outside because of the tyre design. Does anyone know if this is true, or was he having a lend?

I just balanced my bfg's km2 yesterday myself using a friends balancing machine and put the white writing on the inside and had no problem at all balancing them up, so sounds like a load of crock.

This thread goes well with this one http://www.pradopoint.com/showthread...-Now-own-up.... Perhaps they should throw in a set when you choose to put the white on the outside

When I had the OEM silver wheels, I liked the white lettering on the outside, now I have black wheels I would prefer them on the inside.

Where is the 'Who cares as long as they take me along the Canning without a puncture' option.

My new ST Maxx's are whites out but it was not for any reason other than that's what the dealer did. I didn't specify either way when i dropped it in to get the new shoes on nor do i care. I suppose when Nike start making tyres and put the swoosh on them in white then every little wannabe street race will be running whites out. At this point i may care to have the whites in but until then as the first line of my post says.
