That change didn't come in - too many people/organisations/opposition party with issues about it.

It is again under review, should be hearing something in the next month or two.

I went through all this a few months ago and settled on BFG LT275/65/R17's. Got a set of 5 for $1,680 inc Wheel alignment and fitting the Grandcraps to some spare rims for my trailer.
Fits fine with original suspension but you will need a spacer for the rear mounted spare.

Width upgrade keeps me legal in QLD and I have found the off-road performance a huge improvement from the Grandcraps.

Re: New Shoes... And i'm confused...

Thanks for all the input guys.

@ mjrandom - I didn't know BFG A/Ts came in 275/65? According to their site they only come in 265/70 (too big), although the dealer said he could also get 265/65 which isn't listed on their site. I just rang and apparently they do come in that size. So, cheers for pointing that out :-) That's two sizes now I found they do which aren't listed!

So far, my prices for BFG in 275/65 is $380 a corner. For 694s in 275/65 is $360 (i can get this down another $20 by going to the tyre shop in a lower SES suburb. Surprised that the same big name dealer has price variation across these store which are <10km apart! Suits me fine).

I am going to stop by and look at the Maxxis. Their AT - 771 looks to be a competitor with the 694s. I don't think they're LT construction, but then I can get 5 shoes for about $1200 in Maxiis whereas for BFG or Bridgestone i'm looking at about $1900. Ouch! That $700 can (almost) buy my lift or something else...

Too many decisions. I will post up what I have decided when I've made up my mind.

        Cheers -
        Ian.

There are stores that are part of a corporate group and usually get called Bridgstone Select and then there are stores that are just a franchise and they have flexibility in their pricing. I have one of the later near my home and found them to be great in pricing on Mickey Thompson.

You might also want to look at Pirelli Scorpion ATR as they have a 265/65 and 275/65. These are very similar to the 694s as well but I'm not sure if they are an LT or a passanger style

Sounds highish judging by the prices in here.
