Has anyone taken out the rear seats and share a few tips how to go about it? I am about to go on along trip and I need the space, and saving a bit of weight would be a plus.

Rear seat removal - how to?

Hi Wannabe
I remove my seats all the time its very easy. There is only 8 bolts in total and they are all under the plastic covers. The covers are just clipped on and are a bit of a pain to put back on but it looks fine without them. I found that if you fold the seat up it is a lot easier to remove the bolts and covers. Remove the smaller seat first as the larger one is heaver and you need the room to maneuver around. BUT be sure to replace the bolts as dust and water will come into the cabin! If you plan to do some deep water crossings put some thread tape as i found that just the bolt was not enough to keep deep water out. Once there out you will have heaps of room and i have put 5mm rubber Checker plate from Clark Rubber in for $130 which works well. Hope that helps mate!

Thanks a lot. That encouuraged me to have a go. I was afraid of breaking some clips, but they seem sturdy enough. I found I had to undo the clips at the top of the front cover that clips into the back cover and then I was able to wiggle both free. Thanks for the advice about the bolts - will save a lot of grief!
