Replacement rear bar for 3 door shorty Prado.

Folks, does any one know of a replacement rear bar for the shorty Prado?

I know Kaymar and ARB do not. Am sure TJM does not as well.

I was hoping that some one, some where has or knows of one.

Okay just an update. After a few emails and phone calls. Kaymar did make a SWB rear bar. But only as a limited run. They will no longer make them (bummer). Apparently their is no market for rear bars on SWB thats from Kaymar and ARB. Funny as they have the higher towing capacity and would be ideal for protection to the rear end when towing.

Another update. I contact MCC 4x4 accessories and below is their reply. I have asked for photo's of any fitted to the SX prado and will wait and see. Has any one dealt with this organisation before? Could you please let me know if they are any good as I do not want to spend money on something like this that if fails will do big damage to someone.

The rear bar for Prado SX is available, but have to be order in, because we normally presale them before they arrive in stock.
It is 022-02 dual wheel carrier or single wheel and single jerry can holder. Price at $1890. Thank you for your interest

Hi all, Well next instalment of the SX rear bar saga. MCC 4x4 accessories now tell me they do not make them. Below is the response I got today.

So, Round three this time Offroad Division in Brisbane. SO this bar looked really good. Below is the question and answer with ruff costing. The one problem I have is I can not get my car to Brisbane as it is needed in Melbourne for a while. Is their any shorty owners in the Brisvagas area who wants a rear bar fitted keen on talking to these guys? Below is a picture of the rear bar.

"Hi Steven, I haven't made one for a prado yet but I would be very keen to make one. Because it would be the first one, there is a little bit of stuffing around. The way it works is, you'll need to bring the car in for us to pull all the factory bumpers off it and we'll design all the brackets and laser parts. Then we put the factory bits back on and wait for everything to be laser cut and folded. Once it's all been made, we get your truck in for the actual build. It's normally a 2 week job to make, jig, finish and powder coat then fit the final bar. Price depends on if you want carriers or not. Just the bars, normally come in around the 1400-1500 mark, carriers add approximately 550-600 each. There are heaps of options for carriers. The bar design itself will have to be worked out once I've pulled your factory bits off to see what I've got to work with. Any lights etc will all be incorporated into it and if possible, we will try to make a winch fit."

Okay, Here is the latest on this. I have been doing some emailing to these guys too. Unfortunately they only have a Facebook page at the moment but are looking at setting up a website. These guys are keen to do a Prado build.

I have provided them with this website address and Suggested if they want to start doing Prado's to get on here and ask.

"Offroad Division You on deployment mate? I'm ex-army. Did Timor, shit hole. All I can do is ask around and find someone up here that wants a bar. Then just make a copy for you. Are you on any forums with other prado owners? If you find someone that's keen, I'll look after them to make sure I can use their truck for the test and measure truck. Even if they don't want a front bar I'm sure there's something they will want that I can offer. Other than that, most of my customers are nissan owners so they aren't much help. I'll keep an eye out for some one.
