3 Door ZR Prado

Hi all,

I was wondering if I could get some info seeing as I am very unfamiliar with the Prados .....

I have no real idea of the trim levels in the 2010-on models and am also wondering what these machines are like to "live with" on a day to day basis? I have a Suzuki 3 Dr Vitara at the moment and am toying with the idea of upgrading to a 4x4 with a bit more grunt, so I am wondering if the Prado might be the best option ....

Any advice or info I should know before I go looking would be appreciated.....

As you're coming from a 2 door you will be familiar with it being a pain in the arse when ppl need to get in and out of the back, although there is heaps of leg room in the back. It is a very good city car, easy to park and the turning circle is great.
There are 2 levels SX and ZR, both are auto diesel, the sx is fairly basic I'll leave someone else add the features of it, the ZR has a couple of different extras in the earlier models, an off road pack with hill ascent and descent control and electric diff lock, the other pack has radar cruise control with an anti collision system, the later models had all options included, it has a dvd player (useless unless you're homeless) its a good sound system but doesn't bluetooth stream, GPS, heated seats which you might use living in Canberra, rain sensing wipers, auto dimming interior mirror, sun/moon roof, 4 cameras, front and rear parking sensors, centre console cool box, I have heard that some had KDSS but haven't seen it, 18" wheels (bit of a payne for off road tyre choice.

SX is not "very basic" as it is equivalent to a GXL 5dr. XR is probably equivalent to a Kakadu 5dr. But 3dr has been discontinued in Oz for some time now

If I were to compare the SX features that you listed to the list of ZR features that I listed, "fairly basic" wouldn't be too far out of line.

Well, the Vitara has been upgraded to (what I consider to be) an AWESOME ZR .....

Apparently, according to a few mates and the guy from ARB, all I need to do now is "fix it" ..... its currently stock. If I can figure out how to post a pic or a link in here at some stage, I'll drop a pic or two in .....
