  • Anyone bought a ZR yet?

There has been a lot of discussion on the new Prado, but not much on the 3 door. Just wondering if anyone has bought a ZR yet.

I really like the 3 door and I dont really need the space of the 5 door (although the extra fuel tank would be good) and when it is $10k less than a VX I am seriously thinking about it.

    Anyone got any comments?
    Thanks,

    Adam

No-one on this forum bought a 3 door Prado?

So if no-one is buying then I wonder if Toyota will do much better deals on them. And resale will either be really bad cause no-one wants one or really good because they will be rare.
    Thanks,

What other 3 door? Pajero dont make one anymore.

They are expensive, but price difference is very comparable to Pajero. eg.

        Pajero - Exceed: $77k
        3DoorX : $52k $25k difference

        Prado - Kakadu - $94k
        3Door ZR - $68k $26k difference
        Thanks,

We test drove 1, and it was so zippy my wife absolutely loved it for it size power and layout, for me being a bit more of a forward thinker what if we have kids, where will put the dogs and all of the stuff we have in our 5 door + it will look funny towing a campervan that is bigger than it  . I just thought with the set up and all it will be more suited to get around the city with the very minimal off road action, plus it looks like a Rav 4 on steroids.

That's cool. I really want to hear peoples opinions on why or why not you would get one.

I am not sure why you would think it would be better suited to minimal offroad work. I thought it should be as good or better than the LWB.
            Thanks,

Jeep and Suzuki have 3 doors a $52K to $68K is a large difference when you consider the prado has only just caught up in equipment spec (plus will probably still have many necessary "options" to complete it)

I didn't mean it that way. As I posted in another post in the 3 door prado section I think it will be an absolute weapon off road with after market accessories bolted on, but when we went for a test drive she was more trying to sell it as a soft roader than an off road vehicle. Then I started too ask questions with what I can do with it ( thanks Pradopoint ) and she couldn't answer any of them and kept on trying the sales pitches on my wife. So it gave me the Impression that they are after the female market to run around town. If I could afford it I would love to get my wife 1 as a second car just because I know what kind of pedigree the Prado has evolved from and how they are more than capable off road and touring vehicle they are.

                    New ZR Prado

It looks like no-one is buying the 3 door Prado, so I went out today to help Toyota with their figures. After a bit (LOT) of negotiating, I finally managed to get a good price and a good trade for my NS Pajero.

Should be due late January to mid February.
                    Thanks,

                    Adam

So what is the purchase and the trade prices if you don't mind disclosing them? What options have you included and what options were on the Paj??

I took delivery of an SX a week ago.

So far all seems good but it has only got about 300 km so far so not much to report.

Fuel consumption around toun is sitting on 9.7 l/100k.

It has now been rained on but no mud.

Re: Anyone bought a ZR yet?

We have just taken ownership of our new toy after a few Toyota add on's it came in at $65K for the ZR ... I wanted white but they don't come in plain white so we had to settle for the metallic pearl (which is slowly growing on me). Still waiting for the release of the steel winged b/bar and winch, 50mm lift kit from ARB but it's back in the shop Monday for the dual battery kit, tow bar, brake controller. I've spent all Saturday pulling the thing apart and wiring up a fridge socket to the rear section, wiring for the off road gps/camera reversing system for the caravan removed from the 80 series before selling (I'm really gonna miss those long-ranger tanks). Factory accessories included are aero twin roof bars and kayak mounts, head light and bonnet guards, weather shields, leather protection pack and the electronic rust protection ionizer. We also have a tyre monitoring kit thrown in as a sweetener but that wont be fitted until the first service ... due next week. We intend to run it in and add a few km's before we head of across the Nullabor towing our off-road Goldstream. Should have a few things to report after the trip in late Feb.

Alright enough for now I'm off to clock up a few more k's
Hope to catch you out there...
