Thanks for that William. While mine sits close, I can't make it touch the rear door even with all my weight against it so I'm confident it won't rub. There are also no visible rub marks after 10000km or so since installation. I'll continue to keep an eye on it though.

    Cheers, Sam.

Anytime buddy. I don't think I'm the only one who had to modify the bracket, it may have been a bad batch. Anyway, I'm not complaining though, it's an easy fix. I'm very satisfied with the bracket.

      Cheers

There is also an option to mount a UHF aerial on the left hand side of the Kaymar 'Wheel on door bracket' as per below photos which some people may be interested in in order to avoid having aerial on bullbar or bonnet. You could also mount a UHF aerial on Kaymar's HF bracket to right hand side but this is a little more discrete.

Brackets can be purchased off ebay under heading "UHF Aerial Bracket for Kaymar's 'Wheel on door extension bracket' - Prado 150"

For some maybe expensive - the material is probably only worth a couple dollars but allowing for time to work out geometer, fabricating to order, hot dip galvanizing etc, I think $75 is not too bad.

Some people may not have ability, time or inclination to do this kind of thing themselves and would prefer to just buy something that they know will do the job.

Anyway, its just another option for people to consider and if the want it they can either buy it or make it.

Hi I don't know if someone has covered what im asking and I apologize if I am posting in the wrong place.
Im in the situation where I don't have a bulbar on my new 150 and I want to munt my uhf antenna, my friend has a Kakadu and he
mounted his with a z bracket on his bonnet and in a nut shell it suxs, the kaymar wheel on door seems ok but I don't like the massive gap. has any one made a back yard metal bracket to mount on to the rear wheel carrier and mounted a uhf antenna? I don't want to mount it on the roof or the front bumber or even on the rear lights iv seen many pics of members uhf mounts they are nice but I want to mount it on the righ or left or even directly behind the wheel carrier..... any other ideas?

I have a January 2013 150 GXL and purchased the K7120 WOD bracket, the K7123 HF antenna bracket and the K0500LED light. I installed the WOD bracket OK and then added the HF bracket. With the HF bracket mounted "squarely" with the WOD bracket the 9350 HF antenna tuner was leaning forward towards the vehicle by about 10 or 15 degrees. I loosened the bolts and pulled the bracket back so the antenna was straight. Problem solved - I thought. Then I tried to fit the light and now the HF bracket was too far backwards to get the light pole into the bracket. Even putting the antenna bracket back where is first was did not allow enough clearance for the light pole. So I rang Kaymar to see if I was doing something wrong. The Kaymar fitter set one up in their workshop and he found he had the same problem. As he didn't set his up on a vehicle he asked me to put the spare on and see if the light pole bracket could be brought forward. On doing this I found that as long as I didn't use the spare wheel cover and as long as the light pole was mounted as high as possible and as long as I removed the HF bracket then the light pole only just fits. so bringing the light pole further away from the vehicle was not going to be an option. Trying it with the spare wheel cover I found the rear cover hits the switch making the switch inaccessible. Compared to the pics on the Kaymar website it looks like the design of the light pole and the HF antenna bracket has been changed since the photos were taken. Hopefully I'll get this resolved but thought I'd create this post to see if anyone else who purchased recently is having the same problems.

If you fit this bracket what do you do with the reversing camera ?

The camera is still mounted as normal. After the bracket is put on you still mount the spare and everything including the camera back on. The camera is now just moved further back due to the bracket being inserted. There is enough wiring as long you un-clip it from the door.

So as promised and to their credit, Kaymar rang me this morning. They advised me to return all my parts, they will get a 150 in and do some redesign work and then contact me once they have it resolved.
