Does that mean I wont be able to get the alloy side steps for my V6 150?? - or have I misread this one....
I believe Sam is referring only to the steel side steps. Since I already have side steps (albeit plastic ones), there's not much to be gained by switching to alloy ones.

Yep, that's right, I was referring to the steel ARB protection steps.
Well that's disappointing. Looks like I have to get some custom made then.

Excuse my inexperience, but wouldn't the alloy ones with the chequerplate still prove stronger than the factory plastic and provide some protection to the sills??

There's no chequerplate on the Kingsley side steps, they are just an alloy board and if I'm not mistaken they are body mounted rather than chassis mounted.

Corine Hutch has TJM steel steps on his 150 and it has sparking plugs. I have the same steps and they are fine, shoot Hutch a pm if you want details on the V6 set up.

Yep, VX has KDSS. I visited ARB today and they quoted - $787.50 for the steps and $519.75 for the side rails which are a new design and now attach onto the side step. They told me the they are compatible with KDSS - awesome. Bring on the Perth 4WD show and let's see wht sort of show specials they will do.

Hi ... I enquired today at two Sydney based shops ... they both quoted pretty much the same: Side steps fitted (not colour coded) 1,210.00 and with the rails 1490.00. Colour coding (silver) is $220 ... all in all a bit over $1,700 bucks ....
Just wondering, those that have the powerful sliders fitted, are you happy with the fitment and finish on the prado? If not why/where? Really happy with the set a mate has on his 100 series and they are a heap cheaper than what ARB & TJM have to offer

Anybody know of some good quality side steps or rock sliders available for the 150 GX. Preferably I would like to get hold of some in black powder coated steel but I'm not totally opposed to alloy if they were substantial enough. I am in WA. I have searched around the net and found very little information. I'm surprised the after market manufacturers are not all over this one given the amount of GX 150 mining vehicles running around.
