Quigs. You would be more than happy with Leo's work at Wynnum Towbars. No bumper cutting and nothing hanging down. Only problem for you is that he is located in Brisbane. I know he does post all over Australia. check out www.wynnumtowbars.com.au

What about the wiring loom is it supplied and is it a plug in or would I need to see an auto elec for this?
Thanks for the input

Also from me great thanks to Leo and sons from Wynnum towbars . After I saw some pics of 150 bars , this was the best looking and got it installed . No cuts in bumper , if tongue is removed you barely notice there is a towbar. They also did the brake controller and the aux battery for me and installed extra plugs in the boot and on towbar. They explained everything , how and where it is . Good job . Great guys. Very happy customer.

bump -Does anyone know if you need to drill the rails or are they drilled from factory?
I want a bar that doesn't hang too low.
I've rung Parkside Towbars who say that theirs is $685 fitted, $640 supply only, no drilling required, the bar sits higher than genuine, and there is no bumper cutting required.
Anyone got a Parkside Towbar on their 150 or know anything about them ?
Thanks

Just checked with wynnum and the don't post interstate due to the numerous calls, emails and general queries re. Installation of their bar....he suggested HR as the way to go.
Got my eye on a second hand Toyota bar.....without instructions. Does anyone have a set of instructions they could provide me....or is it simply not worth it?

Just echoing oomjaap's comments here. Had the towbar fitted last week and they did a great job. There is Wynnum train station nearby so it is a simple thing to drop off the Prado, train it to work and pick up in the afternoon.
On a different note, does anyone see any issues snatching from the tongue retention pin? As in, putting the strap in the hitch receiver and putting the pin through the center. This was how I was shown to do it years ago, but I know a lot people put in a snatch hitch into the receiver.

I fitted a HR bar from new. About 6 months ago we got rear-ended by a truck and they had to replace it. To my delight the new HR bar is a full width bar that bolts to the chassis like the OEM bar. Bonus! What's even better is the new bar doesn't require bumper cut and sits about 1" lower than the old one that mounted to the rear cross-member. Now I can open my back door with a trailer attached! Double bonus. Always been very happy with the HR product.2011 Blue Storm GXL D4D Auto, TJM T13 Bar, HR Towbar, GME TX3600 UHF, Tinted Windows, 15.1" DVD Player, Projecta 150A + 105Ah Marine Deep Cycle DBS, ABR Sidewinder ABD, Primus IQ brake controller, 40L Engel fridge and slide-lok, Ultragauge Blue ODBII
