Anyone had any experience with Trek tech in Adelaide. Their drawers don't look bad and price is pretty good.

I know of about 4-5 people who have had their gear installed. All are very happy with the quality and price. i really like the idea of the drawer with a table attached underneath. Much better idea, IMO, than a fold down table off the rear door as you can have drawer out, and fridge out and use the table as well.

i was curious about the trek tech slideout table you are both talking about, hence my desire to see some pics. so had a look at their website and if anyone is interested there are interesting designs/configurations at their "customs" page which shows the table: http://www.trektech.com.au/custome.php

Nick: if you slide out the table and start using it, then want to slide out the drawer thats above the table, does the drawer and table slide out as one even if the table was already out and loaded up with stuff? in other words does the table slide out even further or do you have to clean the table up to get the drawer to slide out over the top of the table?

i was thinking if/when i get around to this , [looking like 1 day, a long way off that is....], that it would be great to have separate drawers that allow seats one side or other in very rear to be used with one drawer remaining in back, or to be able to remove one drawer set and fold up second seat on same side to allow picking up of longer items etc. for that reason i was thinking a main drawer with fridge on top of it would be better on passenger side to allow folding down the larger second seat of the 60/40 arrangement, (more storage width for transporting something, not sure what, but just in case i guess..) and then putting RHS drawer back in if/when its needed remembering the 3rd row RHS seat could also be used if need be with fridge and drawer still in on LHS/passenger side. any thoughts???

                cheers....

Here is another pic of the slide out table under the drawer http://www.trektech.com.au/table.php
It looks like the runners are attached under the drawer, so that the table moves with the drawer. But I'm just guessing.

if you make your own drawers and make a slideout table, make sure you can lock it into position when its out for when you park on any sort of incline

I also installed a set from Fourbyfitouts in Hallam Victoria. http://www.fourbyfitouts.com.au/toyota-detail.html shows the setup I have and I'm very happy with it. Quality is very good - well made, strong materials and very good fitting. The arrangement was designed for touring with a 20 litre water tank, hose and and tap, with easy refill. A table top fits neatly on the single drawer (not shown on URL reference), and there is soft luggage storage up top. Service was good too. It's good to support local industry, especially when they have the product. A little cheaper than I was quoted for black widow. More expensive that the ARB system but better quality and more functional for my needs.

The above are Rob's photos with the links fixed. Had an extra http:// at the start to give http://http://

I like the idea of the table top to sit on the drawer. I'm not a big fan of the drop down table off the door as it's hard to use that and have either the drawer or fridge out at the same time. This is a nice alternative but to me the best option is the pull out table under the drawer. Need to redesign my home made drawer system one day or just pickup a piece to sit on the drawer and store along side the fridge with the table as well.

Some good systems out there guys. I spoke with Paul at Trek Tech and have come up with a design that I'm happy with incorporating the under drawer table. the system is based on the Black Widow Tourer 1025 IL. The Trek Tech system I've designed in consultation with Paul incorporates all the features of the Black Widow system including the centre divider and top shelf and will include a sealed side compartment for me to mount the blue tongue IV compressor. All up I'm looking at $1900 including delivery from Adelaide to Port Hedland so I'm almost ready to hand over some folding stuff, just need to make a few tweaks here and there and finalise the deal.

Order is in with Trek Tech for a single drawer system with slide out table, divider and top shelf. $1900 delivered to Port Hedland, couldn't be happier. Now to get these crappy rear seats out.
