  • ARB deluxe winch bar GXL

    Hi all

My first post. My 150 arrives (supposedly) at the dealers today. A slight delay. Can any one tell me the price of the ARB winch bar? (winch coming later - much later). Can you get them as supply only? I preffer to fit most things myself. It normally takes me a long time, but at least I know it is right. Too many stories of dodgy dealer fits and my pre delivery on my 120 was shocking. My wife doesnt like the "reading glasses" look of the genuine model. Although the genuine bar is on ebay for $2400 new.

    Thanks

Good on you for the new car. Yes the ARB is the way to go if you can, but I strongly suggest that you get your suspension done at the same time. I have spoken to a couple of people with steel bars and they both reported that the car felt dangerous to drive on standard suspension. I had my suspension done first.

I've.got nearly 25,000km on my 150, never touched the suspension.and have a winch bar installed from 2 months after delivery. I wouldn't say the car feels dangerous in any way.

Got the ARB Sahara Bar installed same day as delivery - suspension not touched and still going strong (7500kms). Handles well - no danger. $2545 installed including colour coding. ARB (Darwin) did a great job.

I had my ARB winch bar fitted prior to delivery and didn't upgrade the suspension untill 21,000km. While the suspension would compress under braking it certainly wasn't dangerous. That said I obviously prefer things after the upgrade.

Bought a ARB - 3421450 Prado 150 GXL Winch Bar - Colour Coded - Fog Light Kit (Sahara Style 55W) for $1,769.00. Admitedly, I got the original quote from the ARB Stand at the Sydney Caravan & Campoing Show a couple of week's before placing my order. However, when I went to their store in Newcastle and spoke to them, they were more than happy to supply the bar as per the original quote.

In relation to fitting the bar...... I must admit, that it probably took me a little bit longer to fit than what their fitter's would have taken. But, if you take your time and follow the instruction supplied ARB everything will be fine. (couple of head scratching moment's ........ but all fine)
