  • Number plate aerial mount

Hi all, has enyone fitted a UHF aerial to a number plate mount. I was thinking of the mounts they put behined the number plate and mount driving lights to? Yes I have done a search of PP no luck.
    Thanks Colin

I did look into it and there are a couple of generic numberplate fittings you can get to do the job. Just don't try and fit a big heavy aerial and you will be right. I decided to wait and get the bull bar

I did have - 2010 GXL D4D Auto, ARB bullbar, rails, sliders, winch, 40mm lift, Brown Davis bash plates and long range tank

I had one of those until I got my bullbar. I wouldn't want to mount spotties on there but it was OK for the aerial I had. The one thing I did do was to fit some steel brackets from the back of it through the grill onto the metal bumper - I felt that without that it wobbled around too much. Hope that helps. It also looks a bit out of place (read girlie) on the front of a Prado

No worries Colin - I took a bit of stick when I first posted the picture I have moved on a bit since then though

PS I still have it if you want one - just cost you postage.
