  • Snorkel for a V6 yes? No?

I am a couple of weeks away for ordering my bar and spotties but also thought while the car is in at ARB or TJM (still change my mind daily on which deluxe bar) I thought I would get a Airtec snorkel installed. Is it worth it on a v6 ? I don't do a great deal of water crossings but thought for insurance it may be worth it....yes? No?

I would put a snorkel on. Not only for the odd water crossing but you're also going to draw in cooler, cleaner air

      Do It!
Recent convoy type trip traveling with 6 other vehicles were i had a unifilter snorkel beanie over the snorkel head.
The crud that was on the beanie surface was an eye opener.
      cheers

Yes. because there is always that one water crossing that is just that little bit deeper in that hole that you didn't see.

Worth it - however you will hear more wind noise around the snorkel as you drive at highway speeds.

            I vote yes.
CAI Daz... and its higher up, so cleaner air - less dust.
Plus there is the "just in case" moment. And if you are getting the rest of the car done, throw in the package deal?

Have not heard a single bit of wind noise yet from the Airtec Snorkel on my 150, every now and again at idle if revving it a bit you can hear a sucking noise but only with the window down. I would do it even on a V6, insurance a a few cents saving per 100K on fuel...

I've only heard good things about the Airtec not being too visible from in the cabin and not being noisy so I'm happy with the decision to get one.

Airtec may be more streamlined - I was referring to my Safari snorkel, regarding wind noise.

Still a slight bit of noise is no real biggy. Safari have always set the benchmark and hopefully the Airtec lives up to it.

Very happy with my Airtec, much better looking and discreet than the Safari. No noises heard from mine. You won't regret the decision. Even my wife is really happy with it.

Thanks for the link...I guess even a minor improvement in power and economy still makes it worth while plus the obvious water crossing benefit.
