Jasen, you may have answered this already. Have you noticed much apparent movement of the bar when driving. I understand it's actually the body moving on the chassis, but i noticed the gap between the bar and the bumper appears pretty small and wondered if you've got the same problems with rubbing that the steel bars can have when the gap is too small.

Your black smartbar looks good against the silver. I have one on a steel blue 150. Coped a bit of flack from some on the forum but don't take too much notice of it. Some people think you have to be big and steel to be tough. LOL.

Probably best Pete to get yourself down to your local ARB/TJM/Ironman store and have a look for yourself. Most stores including their agents will have a number of different bars on display for you to see how well they're made. Have a chat to the guys in store and they can give you a run down on their product.

thanks craig & hutch, im pretty sure arb make a good product, he seems to be a good bloke, but you have to take all advice with a good dose of suspicion. He sells Arb & ironman etc. It was something about the quality of fasteners on it. Is the sahara bar one piece? (not the alloy loop) what i mean is it a central piece with the wings under headlights bolted on or one whole welded unit.

My Sahara Bar (on a 120) is nearly 9 years old and no issues...

Was speaking to a rep about the Sahara bar, he was concerned that a number of the elements were attached poorly and could work loose on corrugated roads...

Any thoughts from someone that has one or installed one? Thanks

Anybody with a colour coded Smart Bar? E.g. Silver Bar on White Vehicle?

    Hi nick,
Thanks for the info. I will take a look at the ARB online magazine, and would love to see a pic of yours when fitted, that would be great. I am planning on going out to ARB this week, will see if I can put the squeeze on them for a good price.

    Thanks
    Jas

    G'day Jason,

To be honest I went IPF for two reasons... The main one is because I had them on my last 4WD and they proved reliable and robust. I had no issues with mounts and/or electrical connections, less a loose wire in the loom after about 18 months. I even briefly submerged a couple of times (nothing dramatic) with no ill-effects. So I guess I was confident that they were a quality product. Second reason is inherently more simple... Since I got the ARB sahara bar fitted at ARB together with the OME suspension set-up and snorkel, I figured they may as well place the lights on! I don't mind doing most of it myself, but electrics and me (after my land Rover experiences) don't seem to mix. The lights are waiting to be fitted at the same time as the vehicle gets the OME suspension checked when I get home from O/S in three weeks. I will send you a picture then mate; but if you're keen to see how they look on the deluxe bar the ARB online magazine (free on iPad) features a white 150 series with a great set-up from memory.

I did have a good look around. Closest contender in my price range and quality spec was Lightforce and I probably could have got a slightly better deal on these, but ARB Canberra came to the party with the IPFs due to the other gear I purchased. Ask your local dealer - they can normally knock a fair bit off.

    Hope that helps mate

    Nick

    Hi Jerra,
I get my ARB Deluxe installed on my Black GXL 150 in three weeks. My question is about the IPF's. I am looking to put driving lights on as well and interested in your thoughts on IPF. Did you look at other brands. Have you since fitted them, would love to see a pic if you have.

    Thanks
    Jason
