Since the only think I asked my Toyota dealer to do to this car was fit a towbar & they stuffed that up, I brought the snorkel home.
It's actually pretty hard to stuff up if you take your time, follow the template and the instructions. Pics are at: http://s1077.photobucket.com/albums/...kel%20install/
Check out the stripped inner guard pic. This is where the air gets sucked in from sans snorkel. Very, very clean, isn't it...?! Beggars the question of why I'm bothering since after the great Lake Gregory incident of 2011 my snorkel is mostly for dust.
I started cutting the wedges out with a handsaw but soon dragged out the Dremel which completed the job like a dream.
If you get lost you could always pull your snorkel off and find South. By the way the step drill makes life lots easier but beware there is not enough clearance behind the tin for the rearmost hole in the guard, nor the holes in the A pillar.
Btw Nutserts make a nicer finish than stuffing square plugs into round holes.
