ARB Deluxe Bar on Silver Pearl GXL - Go Black or Colour coded???

Hi Guys,
this is my first post here as I am entering the world of 4WD tomorrow at 3pm....the time I pick up my brand spanking GXL.

I have decided on getting the ARB bar for the front and and stuck on wether or not i should get the the black bar or the colour coded silver. I hoping that some friendly folks out there could post a few pics if they have either of the above set ups so I can compare. Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi Drizzlingje I have the exact same setup. I ended up choosing colour coded gets fitted next week hooefully.

I have a white bar on white Prado. If I did it again I'd stick with factory black powder coat. Tougher wearing and matching if you add rear bar, roof rack etc.

yeah, I'm not decided on the rack either which may alter things. If i was getting a snorkel I would probably go black, but I've no use for a snorkel (yet)....arrrrgh.

I went with factory powdercoat as I didn't want to have to deal with stone chips.

Colour coded does look good though.

Another vote for colour coded. Though, I must say that Fozzy's Silver truck with black highlights looks damn good. So if you go black, you just hafta blackout the rims and any other bits you can think of.

I have a silver GXL and had the bar colour coded. It does have a few scratches and stone chips, but Ill get it freshened up a bit in a year or two.

I went silver on mine... I do prefer the look of it colour coded but now after only 1.7 years and 50,000k, it is look a bit tired. I do kind of wish i had gone for the black. plenty of stone chips and the ARB paint seems far from the toughest i've seen!

I'm going colour coded on my Silver 150 too, I reckon they just look neater. Mine should be on by this time tomorrow with any luck.

I went with the colour coded silver, due to the crap roads in central QLD where I lived last year the stone chips have made it look a bit rough (I agree the ARB paint doesn't seem very tough) but I would go color coded again, workmate of mine in QLD had a white 150 and the black bar suited.
Personal choice really but for my vote silver bar on silver car
