  • SupplierFor Half Cargo Barrier For GX Model

I've decided to fit a half barrier to my 150 GX in preparation for the upcoming GTG.
Mine is the 7 seat version but I've removed the seats and fitted a home made drawer system so I'm after one that utilises the rear upper grab handles and also the ones next to the rear doors, as the mounting points.

Somewhere on this site someone has posted pictures of one but I can't find that post.

I thought it may have been Off Road Systems but I've rung them and they've told me they don't have a half barrier for a 150 GX.

    Any Clues???

    Dobbo.

Ausgard in Blacktown do custom half barriers. They quoted me a couple of years ago for my 120 but the price is about the same as full barrier as they have to do a one-off.

Yep, Caddy Storage here in BNE quoted approx. $150 more than standard as it's a custom build.
Also, I spoke with Redland 4X4 and they said that Auto Safe http://www.autosafe.com.au/page5.php do half barriers by request as well. These are made to YOUR specs apparently.

Contacted Off Road Systems again as I was sure they did the one I was after. Apparently the young guy I first spoke to only heard me say the GX bit and not the 7 seat option that I have, with the grab handle by the rear doors, so after confirming with the manager, I had one fitted this morning.
They have recently changed suppliers for their barriers (mine is an Autosafe one) but they hadn't fitted one to a 150 GX yet and had to modify the brackets somewhat, so they offered to fit it for free.
1 &1/2 hours later, barrier is in, money that was burning a hole in my cunning kick is gone, and another mod is ticked off the list.

        Cheers,

        Dobbo.

          Good one Dobbo.

I was very surprised when you said that they didn't have one for your rig.
Persistence does pay off sometimes doesn't it? Not real cheap though are they?

But they are a must IMO.

          Cheers

For the 120 I ended up getting a standard Black Widow half barrier... did you try them for the 150?
            Cheers, Leon

I did when I first looked into this over a year ago, and again when I started my prep for this years GTG.
They only do barriers to suit their drawers and possibly other twin drawer sytems that the barrier can bolt to.
As I made my own drawer and fridge system, it wouldn't work.
At the end of the day, I'm happy I've finally got it sorted and I feel comfortable now that no one is going to get their head taken off should an incident occur.
Plus I can now stack the rear to the roof and not worry about things falling forward.

Yeah they didn't like it when I said I didn't have their draw system... not tested... blah blah blah...

I'll just build my shelf system to match their barrier.
